The meditation rug, titled “Burrow” is intended to reference the Japanese textile “boro.” Boro was created in Japan as a value of “too good to waste.” They are pieces of textile created from old clothes to kimonos which are passed down generation to generation. For this meditation rug, I enlisted friends to donate old clothes and used up any of the remaining indigo/logwood scraps from other pieces in the show.
